Pretty Girl

Anyone who knows me will say that I am a person of few words. Not because I have nothing to say but because I have so many things that I want to say. I have all these thoughts without knowing how to express them wondering if it makes sense to anyone listening.

I started this blog as a way to express the million things that I feel, think and experience.  This video by Rahmes100 on Youtube describes the pitfalls of being a pretty girl and in many ways, describes me and what I went through in my childhood being the pretty girl

  1. Wow, I am speechless. You really can’t judge a book by its cover… better yet, you can put people in a box without first knowing their ingredients. I will be reading as you write. ❤

  2. I meant you CAN’T put people in a box without first knowing their ingredients, which is who they truly are behind their veil (their looks, etc)

    • I agree, I am sure, but I have never though about suicide but can relate to being frustrated at constantly being called the pretty girl and only known for that. It makes you question your identity and makes you wonder whether or not people will see you for the real you.

  3. Wow….powerful piece by rahmes and your silence speaks more for itself… the knowledge of being a pretty girl comes with a responsibility of knowing what to do with it….question is –what is that? How do you embrace and empower a spirited soul, heavy mind and fragmented heart, whether or not the world sees past the face…my opinion — thats what pretty girl might want to focus on….Great Blog…look forward to seeing more!!!!!

    • Agreed, in today’s society being the pretty girls means that you have to work harder just to be heard and taken seriously. Everyone assumes that your life was just easier because you are pretty sometimes, being pretty is more of curse than anything else.

  4. Congrats on finally getting the pen to paper so to speak.
Love the first post & video. I agree that people need to listen to others more & not judge based on looks, assumed intelligence, status in life.
If you don’t know then you can’t care and the first step to knowing is not just to ask a question but to actually pay attention to the answer.

    I’m listening..

  5. This video was powerful and speaks truth to all the girls who have been labeled the “pretty girl” and fallen victims of their preys. The ending was like WOW!

Keep up the good work hun 🙂
